Today I was asked for the 5th time in the past 2 weeks, “Do you provide the RAW photos after the wedding?”
My answer in short, “NO!”
The long answer….
When you book Photos by Nick a your photographer, you are not just booking a photographer to snap a few shots. You are booking an artist who has a vision, style and story to tell. Before I take a picture I have the final output in mind. I know how I will edit it on the computer and then how it will be printed and hung in your home. Most people would not even know how to open a RAW file and manipulate it and make it look like the many styled images on my website.
If I were to just shoot your wedding and then give you all the RAW files, I would feel as if I only did 25% of my job. The other 75% is how I edit the photos and make your final album and prints look as if you were a star in a magazine.
Will I show you RAW files if you ask? Sure, come on over to my studio and we can sit down and show you unedited photos. I will also show you what we did to them and if you want, I will even let you edit a few of your own so you can see my complete style is a combination of what I do behind the camera and on the computer.
Digital cameras and great editing software gives me endless possibilities to make your memories ones that will shine for a lifetime.
Honestly, if you are looking for a photographer who will just snap a wedding for you and provide you with RAW files, they are not doing their job. Finalized JPG’s are what you want as a consumer, so you can take them to any printing location and have them look as the photographer intended.
