A Happy Mothers Day
Every year, people around the world drop what they are doing to celebrate one day of joy with their mother. They put the bad behind them and cherish the one they love for one day. Why not put the bad behind you everyday? Why not cherish the one you love, everyday? Why not celebrate, everyday? Why is it only just one day that most people will go out of their way to say I love you mom? or Thanks?
I was going to make this post on Mothers Day but I was busy doing what I do all the time and not just on some special day. I spent it with my wife and son then spent the evening with my mom. Regardless of what Hallmark tells us, what I did yesterday is something we should ALL do everyday. I challenge you all for the next year, pick a random day from time to time and make it a special mothers day. Make it a mothers year
If you think about it, without mom we would not have the following…
1. Good home cooked meals (Well I am the cook in my house but nothing tastes better than a PBJ that mom or your wife made)
2. Clean clothes (well ok we would but its not the same when mom does it)
3. A tour guide on life to keep you on track
4. A reason to work hard in life, to make someone special proud
5. Someone to share the good times in life and someone to help dig you out of the bad
Here is a special mothers day poem for all moms.
When God set the world in place,
When He hung the stars up in space,
When He made the land and the sea,
Then He made you and me.
He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?
He knew a mother would have a special place
To shine His reflection on her child’s face.
A mother will walk the extra mile
Just to see her children smile.
She’ll work her fingers to the bone
To make a house into a home.
A mother is there to teach and guide,
A mother will stay right by your side.
She’ll be there through your pain and strife,
She’ll stay constant in your life.
A mother will lend a helping hand
Until you have the strength to stand.
She’ll pick you up when you are down,
When you need a friend she’ll stick around.
A mother is one who listens well,
Will keep her word; will never tell.
A mother never pokes or pries
But stands quietly by your side,
Giving you the strength you need,
Encouraging you to succeed.
A mother is one who can be strong
When you need someone to lean on.
You’re more than a mother to me;
A reflection of Him in your face I see,
A love that knows no boundaries.
I’m glad that you chose to be
All this and more to me.
You share a love that knows no end,
You’re more than a mother,
You are my friend.
And of course a few photos to show you how special moms are to a young child. There is nothing better in this world than hearing your child laugh and have fun with mom
