A Beautiful Pennsylvanian Wedding in Pittsburgh
A magnificent event, begins with an extraordinary location such as The Pennsylvanian in Pittsburgh, PA. A turn of the century treasure at your disposal for wedding celebrations and more. The Pennsylvanian was designed and constructed at the turn of the century. This 13-story structure was originally a train terminus/office building for the Pennsylvania railroad. Nearly 10,000 travelers a day journeyed through the majestic Concourse. It is a structure like no other with arched openings, marble floors, ornately decorated walls, and a vaulted ceiling topped by a 40ft high translucent skylight that bathes this space in natural light. A fantastic space for Katie and Mike’s special event.
Preparing for your wedding day is an exciting and wonderful time in the life of a man and a woman in love. The Church shares their excitement and looks forward to helping them. Their faith teaches that it is an even more profound joy to prepare for your married life by entering into the Sacrament of Marriage. Their theological perspective tells us that the Sacrament of Matrimony is a living reflection of God’s love, and that you, the bride and groom, “mirror” that reflection of love to each other, as well as to all God’s people as you live this sacred union for the rest of your lives. Couples preparing for this vocation need a clear vision of this Sacrament.
St. Paul’s is both a local parish community of faith, as well as the “Mother Church” of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. In both capacities, it is a church where many weddings are celebrated every year. I am always so excited to photograph a wedding at St. Paul’s Cathedral not only for it’s beautiful architecture but because my wife and I were married there in 2006.
Katie and Mike had the perfect day! Great weather, beautiful church, prestigious reception location, two great families and 2 people deeply in love. I had a lot of fun capturing their special day and I am sure they had just as much fun as we took photos in Oakland at the Mellon Pillars and at the Pennsylvanian in town.
Here are some of my favorites from their special day. Enjoy and thank you for looking!
