Ben and Chrissy – A Fairy Tale Wedding in Pittsburgh
A wedding is the entrance to a marriage:
One drives through, and suddenly one’s there!
Stepping from a fairy tale carriage
Into quite ordinary air.
Life is now a dance, though beautiful,
Requiring intense coordination;
Each self becomes, in ways inscrutable,
More fully what it is in combination.
And we who love you wait, of course, outside
As you become through love that mystery:
One flesh made whole of separate groom and bride;
Two selves, one life; two notes, one harmony.
When you are one, we then may cherish two:
Loving not just one, but both of you.
I have known Ben since I was in elementary school in Baldwin. We had class together, played football together and hung out with the same group of friends. For the past few years, Ben was either in or attended at least 10 or more weddings we have photographed. We always joked that we could have made an album of the greatest moments of just him from those weddings.
Well the time has come and Ben met his lovely wife Chrissy and I get to make an even more amazing album of these two special people. Their wedding day was another near perfect day in Pittsburgh with bright blue skies, a beautiful bride and lots of loving family and friends gathering to celebrate their special day.
We started the day at Ben’s moms house in Baldwin with a lot of the guys I grew up with. It was nice to see some of the people I grew up with and see Ben’s dreams come true. Every wedding I do is special and fun, but this wedding was extra special to see someone I grew up with get married and take the next step in their life.
We then went to visit his lovely bride at their home and then to the beautiful St. Ferdinand Church in Cranberry Township. I was so excited to see Courtney and Jessie singing at church. We photographed their wedding a few years ago and also had them sing at our wedding when my wife and I were married. They have the most amazing voices and when singing together, it is something else!
After the ceremony we went to Treesdale Country Club for some fun photos with the bridal party and then some intimate and romantic photos with Ben and Chrissy. I had so much fun watching their love really come out and shine as we were working with them at the golf course.
Finally we watched them party the night away at the Chadwick in Cranberry, PA. They had a beautiful slide-show that was presented after they entered their room filled with hundreds of friends and family ready to share their special night with them. The joy did not stop there asBen’s brother / best-man, had an amazing speech with a funny slide-show presentation to go with it. After dinner the party really got going and I do not think I ever saw a moment where people were not dancing. The dance floor was packed and moving all night long.
We wish Ben and Chrissy a lifelong marriage filled with love and happiness. Congratulations guys!
