Love At First Sight
There are people who touch our lives and who teach us valuable things. My wife’s Grandparents are a prime example of this. My wife’s Grandfather lost his dear wife of 60 years this past November. The love they shared was so evident and contagious to all around them. When Grandma passed away, Grandpap was heart-broken, saying that his “girlfriend” and “best friend” of 60 years has gone away. Through this very trying time Grandpap turned to our incredibly strong family tie. Seeing the heartache and loss Grandpap was experiencing was ever so devastating to witness. When discussing with my wife on ways to help and what to do we decided to find Grandpap a companion. Penny came into his life on April 19th. While we know she is not going to replace Grandma or become his new “girlfriend”, we do know she will bring him joy, laughter, and happiness that he ever so longs. It is so uplighting to observe the love a dog can bring to someone. It is important to be reminded that loved ones can never be replaced, however, the new companions we meet in our lives can remind us it is okay to live, laugh, and love.
Some pictures do not need captions…see for yourself the joy that was captured through the lens of my camera.
